2012

The new CRC for Mental Health secured $23 million federal funding. Atholl designed the business model, helped recruit partners and ran the economic impact model. The bid involved nineteen partners with funding commitments of $100 million over seven years.
2010

Atholl developed a cost of teaching model to support the introduction of the University of Melbourne's new Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
2009

Jim Murray presented on biotech business models at the 2009 China Pharmaceutical R&D Summit in Shanghai.

Atholl hosted the Tianjin leg of the AusBiotech delegation to China. Australian biotech companies met with Chinese research leaders, CEO’s and senior government officials.

Atholl signed an agreement with the Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research (China) to help create a joint venture international drug development company.

Jim Murray became CEO of the BioMelbourne Network for five months while it found a replacement for Tim Murphy, who became an advisor to the Federal Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.

Department of Primary Industries secured $180 million for the biosciences research centre at La Trobe University Bundoora. Atholl prepared the commercialisation plan and helped present the case for funding.
2007

Consumer Affairs Victoria secured $3 million funding to develop software to reduce the regulatory burden for Victorian business, based on a business case by Atholl.
2007

The Victorian Minister for Innovation launched a report authored by Jim Murray for the City of Melbourne and other councils that outlines the investment and job creation opportunities from the biotech industry.
2006

Boeing committed to support a local subsidiary company in aviation software development during an industry downturn, after a review of management and marketing by Atholl.
2006

Origin Energy built a manufacturing plant to produce solar panels from new technology developed by Australian National University. Jim coached the management team to gain Board board approval for the $25 million investment.

Jim Murray has over twenty years experience in technology companies and management consulting. His background includes five years as Director, Business Strategy at Ernst & Young, General Manager of a medical research centre at the University of Melbourne, Chief Operating Officer of a venture capital funded software company, and six years in business development at IBM.

He has a keen interest in how value is created from innovation, on many levels, for inventors, for investors and the broader community. He was a founding Director of the BioMelbourne Network, Victoria's biotechnology industry association. He was also a founding member of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University. Jim has delivered MBA and business strategy courses at Swinburne, the Singapore Economic Development Board and the IBM Asia Pacific Education Centre.

Jim completed his masters degree in innovation management at the Engineering Faculty of Swinburne University of Technology. His major thesis was on commercialising environmental technology. He also has a Bachelor's Degree in Business (Marketing) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance.
